2013, 2014 Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ Shock Top for Rear Coilover Setup
by Raceseng
The Raceseng Shock Tops provide a much needed 2 inches of extra rear
shock travel. Each Shock Top extends the shock's shaft further up into
the mount; allowing you to lower your car's stance without bouncing off
your bump-stops as you drive. The Shock Tops are made to work with a
variety of aftermarket single height adjustable coilovers. No
modifications necessary, they bolt right in!
WHY DO I NEED THE SHOCK TOPS?
When you lower a car with single height adjustable
coilovers, you inherently decrease the shock travel by moving the bump
stop closer to the top of the shock body. We lower our car's ride height
mostly to lower the center of gravity and improve handling. However, a
coilover can't effectively function as a dampener if it has no shock
travel. In any race application, bottoming out on the bump stop is
extremely detrimental to your handling characteristics and ultimately
leads to longer track times.
The Shock Tops use the architecture of the ZN6/ZC6 chassis to gain the
additional space needed to move the bump stop up and away from the shock
body.
HOW DO THE SHOCK TOPS WORK?
To increase the shock travel, we CNC machined our Shock
Tops from a solid piece of billet aluminum. We press-fitted a spherical
bearing into the topside of the Shock Top which accepts the shock shaft
mounting hardware. The Shock Top's body provides the additional space to
accept the bump stop; opening up the much needed shock travel.
RACESENG SHOCK TOPS
The Raceseng Shock Tops image depict what they look like installed from inside the trunk. Notice how you can see the Shock Top protruding through the opening in the chassis. This was done to maximize the shock travel.
STOCK COILOVER TOPS

COIL SPRING PERCH
The underside of the Shock Top features a counter-bore
which engages and locates the coil spring. The Shock Top will work with
any 2 1/2", 2 1/4" or 60mm (I.D.) coil spring.
QUALITY USA SPHERICAL BEARINGS
We searched high and low for a USA made, high quality
spherical bearing supplier. Our search ended with FK Bearings who has
been manufacturing spherical bearings for the racing industry for over
40 years. FK specifically manufacturers our spherical bearings with a
bearing race to ball fit that is made to take on the harshest road and
race conditions. The spherical bearings also use a PTFE liner which is
chemically bonded to the bearing race. We strive to use only high
quality components in our products!
CUSTOMIZABLE TO ANY COILOVER
The shock nut and bushing are made specifically for each type of coilover. Please contact us at [email protected] if you need assistance.
SHOCK NUT AND BUSHING
We machined the shock nut and bushing from stainless steel
to provide the ultimate in corrosion resistant and longevity. The
fitment of the shock nut and bushing is dependent upon the the coilover
shock strut thread size and pitch. Below are the thread specs of the
coilovers that we already have shock nuts and bushings made to fit.
KW V1 / V3 - M10 x 1.5mm
Cusco Street Spec A - M10 x 1.25mm
MCS Stock C - M12 x 1.25mm
RCE Tarmac Zero / Tarmac 2 - M10 x 1.5mm
ST Suspension- M10 x 1.5mm
If you know that your coilover has a thread pitch listed above; please
proceed with checking out with that as your selected option and let us
know what kind of coilover you have so we can add it to our fitment
list.

experienced. Our goal is to deliver products with a resounding sense of
authenticity, where form and function fuel each other.
CRAFT
We manufacture our products in house! From cnc programming
to machining production, our parts are made in house using our own
manufacturing equipment. "Proudly made in the USA" may sound a bit
cliche but that mantra is an integral part of the culture at Raceseng.
